⁴ So David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her. When she had purified herself from her uncleanness, she returned to her house. ⁵ The woman conceived. So she sent a message and reported to David, “I am pregnant.”

⁶ Then David sent an order to Joab, “Send Uriah the Hittite to me.” So, Joab sent Uriah to David.
